Friends and Family - As we all know, individuals with Down syndrome are many times at heightened risk for illness due to compromised immune systems. Over the past 24 hours we have seen the Coronavirus/COVID-19 make its way to Southwest Missouri, prompting many organizations, schools, and others to take precautionary action.
At DSGO, we are committed to bringing life and wellness to families who are advocating towards a community of inclusion for individuals with Down syndrome. Due to the increasing concern surrounding the now local spread of the virus, we feel that the safety of our families must be our number one priority. It from that stance that we have made the difficult decision to cancel all DSGO events until further notice. This includes our annual Genes & Jazz fundraising event.
Our hope is to reschedule Genes & Jazz for a later date this year. We are now working to provide alternative ways for the community to show financial support for our cause and will be communicating those efforts as soon as we have more details. We will also be communicating updates to future programming and family events as we have them.
Like many of you we are extremely disappointed and hope to see resolutions made soon, so that we can again come together as a family and move forward with advocating for our loved ones. We are still available if you need us or if you have any questions. We can be reached at firstname.lastname@example.org.
